OMBRA MAGNETICA

Eleonora Polato (Anita) and Jonathan Frigeri (Johnny Haway) bring to life a sounding ecosystem of scattering objects, set in vibration by transducers. This set of objects generates a ghostly sound, a thick texture of crackles, tremors, pulsations and feedbacks that merge and resonate in a captivating way.

THE ANNOTATION OF THE IIRRM

A newspaper of the ‘Institut de Recherche sur la Radio et la Magie‘ directed by Zonoff, published twice a year and containing texts and images around questions of magic and radio. The issues are co-edited by artists who have spent time in residence at IIRRM.

The first issue is about conspiracy theories as an artistic form, about fear and how to handle it in a society that is still struggling with how to deal with text and code.
One text explores the simple and at the same time very complex question of a proof of existence with logic and language.

8 pages, newspaper format. Issue 1, autumn 2021 edited by Jonathan Frigeri and Laurent Schmid. With texts by Vincenzo Latronico ‘Thruths out of thin air‘, (first published in the ‘Bulletins of the serving library’ 2014) and ‘FA15E FA15E B1155‘ by Laurent Schmid (2021)

cc 2021, published by Zonoff and activeRat, edited by the Institut International de Recherche sur la Radio et la Magie, c/o Zonoff, Genève

A-SIDES – A COSMOLOGY OF AUDIO EDITIONS BY ARTISTS AROUND THE ARC LEMANIQUE REGION
Art & vinyl: an analytic anthology of artist’s records in Switzerland.
Since the beginning of its existence, the record has always been used by visual artists as a form of distribution for their sound practice. First experimented with by the early avant-garde movements, the role of these sound supports was later redefined in the context of the proliferation and hybridization of forms between sound and language.

THE MIDDLE MATTER: SOUND AS INTERSTICE
The Middle Matter is a reader which brings together thoughts on the nature of sound; its substance, specific qualities, and potential – with a specific curiosity to its propensity to occupy the spaces in-between, the interstitial gaps between different spaces, times, cultures, and world views, between the interior body and the exterior space.
